Why you should try RUCK-X

Rucking is a unique exercise that helps develop cardiovascular fitness, endurance, strength and muscle in one simple, accessible and efficient package.
We like to think that for men 40 and above – Rucking has the exercise X Factor!

WHY RUCK-X

HOW RUCKING CAN HELP

1. ACCESSIBILITY

Rucking is a low-impact workout that is easier on the joints and less prone to injuries than running or lifting weights.

Rucking is just walking, with a weighted pack, so you can start by just walking and building up a routine. Then, you gradually add weight and distance to control and elevate the intensity of your workout.

Best of all, you don’t need any fancy equipment to get started, grab a backpack and a few books and just walk out your front door.

Rain or shine. Your local streets, park or any outdoor space. We are no athletes and we ruck regularly and so can you.

If you can walk, you can Ruck – it is that simple.

2. Physical Health

Over 40, men start to see the risk of common health issues skyrocket.

Weight gain, reduced muscle mass, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, osteoarthritis, mental health issues, sleep disorders, dementia and cancer are some of what we can look forward to if we neglect our health.

It need not be this way and with regular exercise we can stave off these problems and stay fit and functional through our 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.

Rucking is a simple, accessible way to stay fit and functional in the second half of your life. Strength, cardio, endurance, socialising and in one simple package.

Be a great husband and dad today, and a fit, fun grandparent tomorrow with Rucking.

3. Mental Health

A lot is going on as we head into our 40s and 50s.

From work pressures & financial stress to physical decline and health concerns, men our age often find themselves burned out, eating badly, little time for friends and relying too much on alcohol. Factor in relationships, ageing parents, children becoming teenagers and everything can often seem too much.

Rucking helps by combining tough but realistic goals, time outdoors and exercise into one accessible package. Better still, if you ruck with a friend, it builds in some socialising, accountability and just talking, which all helps lighten the mental load!

We are not forcing these smiles when we ruck – getting up, getting outside and getting a sweat on helps to feel great and tackle your day.

Rucking will not make your problems disappear, but it will make you tougher, more resilient and better able to handle life’s challenges.

4. You were built to ruck

As modern humans, we are largely identical to the people walking the earth 200,000 years ago.

During this time humans have always had good social contact, walked long distances, lifted and carried heavy things, spent time in nature & ate unprocessed foods.

Unfortunately, our modern environment is radically different, and it is making us sick. We spend too much time sitting down, we have persistent stress rather than acute intervals (being chased by a tiger). We eat bad-quality processed food. We don’t walk or get into nature anywhere near enough. Worst of all, we don’t have the social connections that we so desperately need.

Rucking can’t magically fix all of this, but you can go a long way towards looking, feeling and performing better. Ruck with a friend and follow some of our upcoming dietary tips and you will be in a better place to tackle the rigours of the modern world!
